Weekend Eve Open Thread

Good Morning!

St. Augustine was...okay; since this is a football blog it wasn’t a 1st round bust but more of a 4th round disappointment. The hotel was nice but nothing special (except the cost) the restaurant I booked couldn’t find our reservation, they got us seated anyway but the food wasn’t Walsh’ed but more Pondered. Still fun to get away with mrs_rob for a short time. I’ll be smoking a pork butt today, got it at a local store, nine pounds so I’m planning on a twelve hour smoke, will probably throw some peaches on the grill too.

Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s weekend eve, time to plan the beer and meat menu for the weekend.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip the cows, try the tiger meat and Welcome Aboard!
