Good Morning!

I’m filling in for Gone Fishin today since he took his family to Walmart the state fair today to fill up on junk food, rides and whatever else they have there. Training camp starts this week, I for one am excited to see this edition of the Vikings start practicing in preparation for a great season. I’m probably going to delay the mailbag article for a day or two this week since training camp starts Wednesday so we can incorporate some training camp type questions and I’m going out of town for a day or two anyway.

Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Monday, time to go to work for most of you, time for a week off for me.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Report: Dede Westbrook to officially sign with Vikings on Sunday.

On this edition of Training Camp Memories, hear from Vikings Legends Warren Moon and John Randle who joined Pete Bercich to share some of their favorite memories from their time in Mankato at Vikings Training Camp.

Roundup: Colts place OT Eric Fisher on PUP list ahead of training camp.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip the cows, try the tiger meat and Welcome Aboard!
