Sunday Open Thread

Good Morning!

“What the hell was that” -Krusty the Klown. I didn’t watch the game yesterday but I did see the various meltdowns here and on Twitter. Once the Vikings announced that essentially all the starters were not playing expectations should have been adjusted, particularly with the Broncos playing their starters for at least a portion of the game.

I think some guys cemented their status as not being on the roster, cough Dozier cough, but some of the rookie performances were equally disappointing. Hey, at least no one had to sit out due to Covid, right? I’m not going to do a bunch of links today so I can get this published and carry on with the rest of my day.

Meanwhile, we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Sunday, time to fire up the smoker or the grill and start chilling the beer.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Vikings Rewind LIVE recap of Broncos at Vikings. Who’s up? Who’s down? Let’s talk about it!

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com: Head Coach Mike Zimmer addressed the media following Saturday’s loss to the Broncos.

League News:

2021 NFL preseason, Week 1: What we learned from Saturday’s games.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, watch out for the dude behind the plexiglass and Welcome Aboard!
