You have questions, I have answers....a wrong answer is still an answer.
Good Morning!
The Vikings have played two preseason games, both with mixed results and losses. I don’t know how much to get worked about that fact or if I should bother at all. Unfortunately I’ve been shut out from seeing either game, so any analysis will come from reading here and elsewhere.
This Friday the Vikings play their final preseason game, is this the last we’ll see Mata’afa, Dozier, and some other veterans?
Everson Griffen was signed yesterday, on a scale of “meh” to “awesome” how are you feeling about signing a retread at RDE and is this an indictment of Rick’s drafting ability?
Last mailbag we talked about the Vikings 3rd round rookies, have they done enough to help themselves get on the field this year? (below is a list of players for review, don’t be like that moran and forget one)
So far this year’s 3rd round picks:
Round 3, Pick #66 - Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M -tbd
Round 3, Pick #78 - Chazz Surratt, LB, North Carolina -had some nice special teams action against the Colts
Round 3, Pick #86 - Wyatt Davis, G, Ohio State -is scoring well with PFF in run and pass blocking.
Round 3, Pick #90 - Patrick Jones II, DE, Pittsburgh-tbd.
ISM rebounded and made some good plays in the return game against the Colts, did he cement a spot on the 53 and why is the answer “yes?”
Uli Odoh looks serviceable at RG as does Cleveland at LG, is this the year Bradbury takes a step forward?
Barr has been out for the last ten days, we haven’t heard the word “tweak” from HC Mike Zimmer yet, if his absence carries over to the regular season is that an issue for this defense?
Give me the over/under for wins in the regular season for the Vikings.
If you’re on Twitter, and you have a question about the Vikings, the draft, fantasy football, or life in general, tweet us a question with #DailyNorsemanmail somewhere in the tweet or you can dm me on Twitter (Rob@DN1). If you do, please let me know what your username at The Daily Norseman is unless I already know it. You can also leave your question as a mention in either Twitter account.
Preferably, you can leave a comment in this post, I’ll revisit it later in the week.
If you’re like me and hate social media, drop me an email....dailynorsemanmail at gmail dot com (the period and @ is removed to prevent harvesting by bots).
My plan is to get this to get this pulled together in the next couple of days and have it ready to post Thursday or Friday, depending on how my week goes.
