Vikings waive Evin Ksiezarczyk, reach injury settlement with Riley Patterson

A couple more moves before the preseason finale

NFL: AUG 21 Preseason - Colts at Vikings

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings began their road to reducing the roster to 53 players before departing for the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The team announced that they have waived offensive tackle Evin Ksiezarczyk.

Ksiezarczyk was signed by the team back in May after participating in the team’s minicamp. He was with the Atlanta Falcons during Training Camp in 2020.

The Vikings also announced that they reached an injury settlement with kicker Riley Patterson. Patterson was waived by the Vikings with an injury designation a couple of days ago, and after passing through waivers wound up on the team’s injured reserve list. He was supposed to be part of a kicking competition that never materialized during this year’s training camp.

With this move, the Vikings are now down to 79 players on the active roster (Patterson didn’t count because he was already on IR). They will have to be down to 53 players by 3:00 PM Central time on Tuesday afternoon.
