Just remember, this was a preseason game, and wise or not, Mike Zimmer has not fielded all his starters for any of them. It is definitely a gamble and will turn the next game against the Cincinnati Bengals, one that counts, into that final tune-up. Let’s hope it works out.
Your Minnesota Vikings flew down to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the final preseason tune-up for the season. Andy Reid has already the Chiefs ones will play the first half. He is obviously treating this as the traditional 3rd game of the preseason when there were 4. Mike Zimmer said he will play most of his starters too, but more like last week. Veterans like Dalvin Cook, Alexander Mattison, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Thielen will be out, however, limiting the offensive weapons Kirk Cousins will get to play with. The KC defense has shined in their previous two games and this will definitely be a test for the newly assembled offensive line. Can Rashad Hill redeem himself after giving up a sack last week? Will the interior of the O-Line continue to improve with Ezra Cleveland, Garrett Bradbury, and Old Udoh? On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs have thrown for over 350 yards in their previous games. Will the new-look defensive backfield make that not the case? The Final Score crew and you the fans will discuss it here!
The Final Score [the name for CTP’s Postgame show] is ready for the season. There are 4 new regulars and the occasional guest. The focus will be on you the fan, and how you felt the team did. Hopefully racking up the wins in the regular season. Today, Jayson, Dave, and Ryan Ortega guesting will look at how the starters and those remaining trying to make the final 53 man roster did in this third preseason game in preparation for the 2021 campaign. #SKOL!
