Merry Monday, everyone!

In the final practice game of the preseason, the Vikings didn’t get the W, which means zero. In the final practice game of the preseason, the mostly backup defense gave up yards to the Chiefs starting offense, which means very little. In the final practice game of the preseason, the Vikings starting quarterback looked horrible, which is concerning. In the final practice game of the preseason, the Vikings rookie quarterback continued to show improvment, which is encouraging. Those are my main thoughts on Friday’s game, I’m sure there will be others, go ahead and share them in the comments. SKOL!!!!

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Keep up with the latest at the Daily Norseman Minnesota Vikings Final Roster Cut Tracker.

The Vikings have agreed to a four-year contract extension with Harrison Smith. This is great news for me, Harrison Smith has long been my favorite current Viking, and I’m glad to see that he’ll likely play his entire career here.

Irv Smith Jr. is to miss the start of the regular season following meniscus surgery. Hopefully he recovers quickly and can get back on the field soon.

The Vikings waived three players to start their roster cuts.

Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip the cows, and remember that our special on sloth soup begins at 200 comments. Oh, and Welcome Aboard!!!!!
