As a part of their cuts to 53 players, a deadline that needs to be met by 3:00 PM Central Time, the Minnesota Vikings have said goodbye to the player with the coolest name on the roster.

Mister Elias D’Angelo Philyor. . .you know him as “Whop”. . .has been waived by the Vikings.

Philyor was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent this spring after a successful college career at Indiana. He appeared in all three of the Vikings’ preseason contests, catching three passes for 54 yards.

Philyor is a smaller receiver whose best home in the NFL appears to be in a slot role. There hasn’t been any word yet about whether or not the Vikings want to bring him back to the practice squad at the present time.

We will be keeping track of all of the Vikings’ roster cuts on our Roster Cut Tracker, which you can find right here.
