Despite some of the issues that the Minnesota Vikings have been having at tight end recently, they have chosen to part ways with a player that they drafted at the position as a part of their final cuts.
The team has announced that they have waived tight end Zach Davidson.
Davidson was one of the Vikings’ two fifth-round picks in April’s draft after a successful college career at Central Missouri. He was considered to be a very raw prospect but an intriguing one because of his athletic ability. During the preseason, he struggled with drops and had issues as a blocker as well.
You would think that Davidson is the sort of player that the Vikings would be very interested in bringing back to their practice squad if he were to clear waivers, but we will see if that’s the case on Wednesday.
We are tracking all of the Vikings’ roster cuts today on our Roster Cut Tracker, which you can find right here.
