Vikings Practice Squad Tracker COMPLETE

UPDATE! The Vikings have completed their practice squad. Updates since I first posted this are bold and italicized.

- Sean Mannion, QB

- Trishton Jackson, WR

- Zach Davidson, TE

- Zack Bailey, iOL

- Parry Nickerson, CB

- Jake Bargas, FB

- Tye Smith, CB

- Myron Mitchell, WR

- AJ Rose, RB

- Whop Philyor, WR

- Kenny Willekes, DE

- Myles Dorn, S

- Ameer Abdullah, RB

- Dakota Dozier, iOL

- Tuf Borland, LB

The Vikings chose not to bring back Jake Browning, it looks like they're signing Sean Mannion instead. The Vikings were also planning to sign Hercules Mata'afa, but changed their minds and will be going in a different direction. Who knows whether Hill will join the PS or take up a roster spot. Shane Zylstra was the only Viking signed to a rival, as he landed on Detroit's practice squad.

Jalyn Holmes could be added to the squad later today, but a current practice squad player would need to be waived.

In my humble opinion, the biggest news here is that Abdullah and Dozier were both signed to the practice squad, meaning they are not going to be re-signed to the 53 (at least initially) as part of the roster gymnastics the Vikings have been pulling. It's also great to see Willekes and AJ Rose slip past waivers. Finally, you've got to love landing two capable corners on the practice squad - every year the Vikings end up forced to play a practice squad CB in a December game, and it's nice to know that won't be as terrible a scenario as it was in years past with Nickerson and Smith.
