We are right around ninety minutes from kickoff at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, and the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals have released their inactive lists for today’s game. Let’s take a look at who will be sitting out for both sides, starting with the visiting team.
Minnesota Vikings
- LB Anthony Barr
- OT Christian Darrisaw
- CB Cameron Dantzler
- TE Ben Ellefson
- DT James Lynch
- QB Kellen Mond
- DE Patrick Jones II
It’s worth noting that the Vikings have elevated QB Sean Mannion and RB Ameer Abdullah from the practice squad for today’s contest, with Mike Zimmer saying that Mannion. . .not Kellen Mond. . .will serve as the backup for Kirk Cousins today.
Dantzler being inactive is a significant surprise, at least from my viewpoint, but that’s apparently how far he’s fallen since the end of last year. Also, with Ellefson inactive, the Vikings’ three tight ends are Tyler Conklin, Brandon Dillon, and Chris Herndon. Hopefully they’re all up to speed on things.
And now for the home team
Cincinnati Bengals
- OL Fred Johnson
- CB Nick McCloud
- DT Tyler Shelvin
- OL D’Ante Smith
- CB Trae Waynes
To be honest, I’m not terribly familiar with the Bengals’ depth charts and things of that nature, but outside of Waynes there aren’t any names that jump out from this list as potentially having a big impact or anything. Not to me, anyway.
And those are your inactive lists for this one, folks. The discussion thread for the first quarter of play will be dropping at the top of the hour, 11:00 AM Central time. We hope to see you there!
