Livin’ in a doomer’s paradise.....

Minnesota Vikings v Cincinnati Bengals Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Merry.....or gloomy.....Monday, everyone!

Alright, I’m not going to go too deep into the game today, as I’m sure there will be plenty of doom and gloom spread around the comments section already. I think I got about 90% of my weekly picks wrong. Eh, who gives a ****?

My quick analysis is:

The offense: 9 penalties in the first half is bad, and the offense overall was bad in the first half. They really didn’t show any signs of life until after the Bengals were in more of a prevent mode in the second half, which is a recurring theme. The Bengals had one of the worst defenses in the league last year, so this offense should do more than it did. Grade: F

The defense: They weren’t horrible, but they weren’t great. We expected (well, at least I did) the defense to take a bit before they start running on all 8 cylindars. But you know what? They did enough to give the team a chance to win. The Vikings were a blown call fumble away from a chance to win the game. Grade: C

Special Teams: Holy s***, what a difference from last year! I’d say they had straight Fs pretty much all year last year, but yesterday was much better. Coverage was not perfect, but much better. That field goal (well, both field goals) by Greg The Leg to force overtime was clutch. Grade: B+ or maybe an A-

I’m coaching kiddo’s flag football team this year, so I was able to miss a majority of the first half. After catching up with it, I’m glad I missed it, and I wish I wouldn’t have caught up with it. The flag football team was a blast to watch, and I’m happy to be coaching them. Kiddo scored a touchdown on offense, and then he forced a fumble on defense. Hoo-ah!

That’s all I got. I still have the team down for 11 or 12 wins this year, I don’t let one game alter my opinion. The offense needs to get going. Oh, and I normally avoid threads the day after losses, because watching fans gloat over a loss gets on my nerves, so I won’t be around much today, so if anyone sees anything that’s out of line, don’t be afraid to shoot me an email. BUT, I will be checking in to babysit, so don’t get ignorant. SKOL!!!!!!!!!

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip the cows, and try the lutefisk. Oh, and most importantly, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
