Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Aaaand I hope you are having a happy Wednesday. It’s beautiful outside, so go enjoy it, because the snow can start flying any day now up here in the upper midwest. I remember it snowing on September 16th on the year my wife and I met, so that would have been 2010. I have a feeling that winter is going to show up early, hit hard, and stay long, so enjoy the outdoors while you can. The good thing about an early winter is early ice fishing, so there’s always a silver lining (for most people).
Around the DN since our last open thread:
wludford poses a question; Mike Zimmer Remains Optimistic Despite Loss to Bengals - Should Fans Be Too? I am. I certainly don’t allow one game to tank my hopes for a season, that seems nonsensical to me.
Arif stopped by and posted Norse Code Podcast Episode 384: False Starts.
Luft Krigare posted the latest CTP with CTP Mondays - Teeing It Up Week 1, Vikings at Bengals.
GASkol asks you to vote for the Nincompoop of the Week: Week 1 (Bengals).
reidellr4 posted Unbelievable! - Concerns Confirmed.
Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:
From the Twin Cities Press, Mike Zimmer still thinks the Vikings can be really good, and here’s why he might be right. Finally, a bit of sanity. I don’t know that I’ve seen the level of doom and gloom after one game that I’ve seen this year.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip the cows, and try the lutefisk. Oh, and most importantly, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
