Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings: Inactive lists for both teams

Who is sitting this one out?

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals Billy Hardiman-USA TODAY Sports

We are less than ninety minutes from kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium between the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks, and both teams have released their inactive lists for today’s contest. Let’s take a look at who will be sitting this one out, starting with the visiting team.

Seattle Seahawks

  • S Marquise Blair (knee)
  • DE L.J. Collier
  • WR D’Wayne Eskridge (concussion)
  • QB Jake Luton
  • LB Benson Mayowa (neck)
  • RB Rashaad Penny (calf)
  • OT Brandon Shell (ankle)

Shell is the starting right tackle for the Seahawks, which could mean big things for Danielle Hunter in the quest to contain Russell Wilson. Blair was not given an injury designation on the final report, but he’s out anyway. Mayowa, who was listed as questionable, has also been scratched.

And now, the home team.

Minnesota Vikings

  • LB Anthony Barr (knee)
  • RB Dalvin Cook (ankle)
  • OT Christian Darrisaw (groin)
  • CB Harrison Hand (hamstring)
  • DE Patrick Jones II
  • DT James Lynch
  • QB Kellen Mond

Cook being out is, obviously, huge. Alexander Mattison will get the start. He had his lone career 100-yard rushing game last year against Seattle, so he’s had success against the Seahawks before, but it’s obviously going to be much tougher sledding without Cook in the backfield.

Those are your inactives for the Seahawks and the Vikings, folks. We’ll have the Open Thread for the first quarter dropping at right around 2:30 PM Central time, and we hope to see you there!
