Weekend Open Thread

Good Morning!

This is the last weekend without Vikings football for a while; it’s time to get the honey-do list taken care of, get the lawn mowed and since it’s the weekend fire up the smoker for some smoked meat. I’m going to be cautiously optimistic about this year’s edition of the Vikings, and I’m going to die on a hill with my prediction of a 3-1 start even though it has been pointed out I don’t know what a ceiling or a floor means in relation to wins.

I wasn’t excited about the signing of the current QB2 to the practice squad, I do think the Vikings needed a veteran backup in case Kirk gets injured (unlikely) or catches a “cold” (more likely) and missed some games.

Meanwhile, we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s the weekend, time to fire up the smoker or the grill and start chilling the beer.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, watch out for the dude behind the plexiglass and Welcome Aboard!
