You know, just as I start to think my workload has decreased to the point where I can start doing this weekly again comes around, something else gets added onto the pile. I would've liked to have done this earlier in the week, but there just wouldn't have been any time to do so. But, I have the time right now, and without further ado...

These two weeks were very much a tale of two games. We got absolutely plastered by Dallas, only to then put up 33 points on one of the best defenses in the league. really makes you look at that Dallas game and wonder just what the hell happened.

That game was eerily reminiscent of another, that being the Philadelphia game in Week 2, although the defense did show up in the second half of that game to keep it relatively close. It could've gone the way of this Dallas game if the defense hadn't. That being said, it wasn't just the defense that was bad. Everything was off kilter in that game. Play calling, individual performances, etc. Hell, it even made me feel bad for those that paid to go see that trainwreck. Might as well have just thrown your money out the window as you drove down 94. Probably would've been a better use for it to be honest.

And then follow that all around horrible performance, we we had probably one of our better called games to date. If you look at every game on our schedule that we've played, there will be one that's unanimously considered the best: Week 10 at Buffalo. 2nd Place is also pretty unanimous: Week 1 vs the Packers. Third place, however, isn't in that boat. I've heard arguments regarding our game against the Cardinals and Commanders, but to me, this game was our 3rd best of the year, and it's probably what we're going to see from here on out in terms of overall team play. When we faced the Pats, their opponents were only averaging 16.9 points a game, 2nd best behind Dallas (16.7). To score twice that amount is impressive in my eyes, and we called a solid game while doing so. Were there things to improve on? Undoubtedly, but it was a good game for the Vikings.

Speaking of team stats, did you know the Vikings are currently 3rd in the NFL in Turnover differential, at +6? Crazy right? Not to mention, turnovers at the right time have won us at minimum two games: Buffalo with Pat Pete's walk-off INT, and Chicago with Dantzler's strip of ISM. But, you might also wonder, who is in 2nd and 1st? Baltimore is at 2nd with +8, and Philadelphia is in 1st with a +13(!) TO differential. That is an insane statistic for them, and one that could prove to be their launch pad to the Super Bowl.

Currently, the Vikings stand at the #2 Seed. The Eagles have a 1.5 game lead over us, as they have the head-to-head tie-breaker. Their next 6 opponents are: TEN, NYG, CHI, DAL, NO, NYG. Out of these 6 games, I think they'll beat CHI and NO, Split with the NYG, and lose to TEN and DAL.

Our next 6 opponents are: NYJ, DET, IND, NYG, GB and CHI. Out of those 6 games, I think we'll beat everybody except either the Giants or Detroit. I think by the time the GB game rolls around, we'll be facing Jordan Love for the first time as a starter, and that should be a game we win. Same goes for IND and CHI. I would say NYJ should be a win, if they were starting Zach Wilson or Joe Flacco. But, Mike White is starting and he is by far the best QB they have over there. Still, we should win that game. When it comes to DET or NYG, however, I'm unsure. We should beat DET, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dan Campbell pulled a rabbit out of his hat. And I think the NYG game would be a coin toss, maybe slightly in our favor 55-45.

If it were to happen in that manner, the Vikings would end at 14-3, and the Eagles at 13-4, meaning we'd get the first round bye and Home-Field Advantage through the playoffs. Time will tell as to what exactly will happen, but if we are to lose two out of our next 4, then I think 1st seed is out of reach.

The only solace I take after two consecutive under .500 weeks is that if anybody else predicted all the games back in August, they too would be in this boat of looking at the predictions and wondering what went so horribly wrong?

NFL Week 13 Predictions
Looking at this slate of game, I think that most of them are in the realm of what should happen. However, there are a few that are going to be different.
  • CHI over GB
  • SEA over LAR
  • ATL over PIT
  • WAS over NYG
I am keeping the Houston game as is because I desperately want to see the winners of this years Tank Bowl beat Deshaun Watson.

For those who want to make their own predictions, I use this: NFL Playoff Predictor.

I am interested to see what you're opinions are of the game the Vikings had, as well as what you expect for the next week of football, not just from the Vikings, but around the entire league. Do you have any upsets in mind for this coming week, or are things going to be quite predictable?

Question: The Minnesota Vikings sit a game and a half out of the 1st seed. In order to claim that spot, the Vikings need to go 6-0, 5-1, 4-2. 3-3 or 2-4, while the Eagles need to go 4-2, 3-3, 2-4, 1-5 or 0-6 respectively. How many games do you think the Vikings will win in these last 6 games? How many do you think the Eagles will win?
