Among the 4 worst RUN D's??!?? Last year; Yah Sure You Betcha!!?!
BUT IF Hunter & ZDSmith are healthy and most of the rest of the D only misses short chunks of games (like 2-3)...
I think This Defense is Greatly Improved!! Those 2 EDGE Rushers alone are better than any DE duo we had all of the last 2 seasons. Vs. Pass & Rush. I think that Dantzler is much better than Breeland and Sully can't hardly be worse than Mack last year amiright?? I like that we have Pat-Pete to help the learning curve of all the youth; and adding Booth & Evans & Cine added a TON of SPEED to the Secondary. As the guy points out; Hicks may be an upgrade of Barr even if just for availability...and I think he pairs very nicely with Kendricks' skills!
Denver's D was pretty good last year under Donatell & Fangio. 8th in yards allowed per game. 3rd least points/game allowed. Obviously, their secondary is better And more established; but I think you can make the argument that MN has more & established talent up front.
"From 2019 to 2020, Smith put together an elite two-year stretch in Green Bay, recording 144 quarterback pressures (fourth in NFL) and a 90.3 PFF pass-rushing grade," PFF wrote. "The only edge rushers with a higher pass-rushing grade than that over that two-year stretch were T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.
"If that's the version of Smith that returns from a 2021 season almost entirely lost to injury, this is a steal for Baltimore who won't factor into the compensatory pick formula because he was released by Green Bay. New Defensive Coordinator
Mike MacdonaldEd Donatell should be able to find some creative ways to utilize Smith alongside Odafe Oweh and Tyus BowserHunter & Wonnum.
So, What do ya think DNers? I'm betting middle of the pack as their floor...as long/until a bunch of injuries pile up at some position
