Giving Props: Best player bets for the Vikings against Denver

Let’s make everyone some money, eh?

It’s time to take a look at this week’s player prop bets for the Minnesota Vikings courtesy of our friends over at the DraftKings Sportsbook for their game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. If you’ve got some money burning a hole in your pocket and you’d like to have even more money in your pocket. . .which would probably just burn a bigger hole, but anyway. . .we’re here to help you with that.

Last week, all three of our bets that we highlighted cashed, and I think that’s the first time all year that’s happened. Always nice to see that, eh? Let’s see if we can do it again this week.

Joshua Dobbs, 31.5 yards rushing: Over (-115) or Under (-115)

Dobbs’ ability to move the football with his legs has been a big part of the Vikings’ offensive success over the past few weeks, and he’s likely going to have to make a few plays with his legs again this week. The Denver defense is very good, particularly in the secondary, and he’s going to have plenty of plays where he’s going to have to try to extend things and, inevitably, try to gain yardage on the ground. There’s no reason to think that he can’t break this total this week.

The play: Over

Josh Metellus, 3.5 solo tackles: Over (-150) or Under (+120)

Metellus has been one of the big pieces of the Vikings’ defense this year, which I don’t think a whole lot of us saw coming. He’s one of the guys that Brian Flores moves all over this defense and has just caused havoc for opposing offenses. Metellus is someone that the Vikings could potentially use to keep an eye on Russell Wilson as well, meaning that he might have some opportunities to go one-on-one with him and get some tackles. This seems to be an easy one, too.

The play: Over

First Vikings Touchdown Scorer

Gonna try something a little different with this one. If you go to the “TD Scorers” page from the DraftKings link above and scroll down, you can get a list of odds for who you think will score the first touchdown for the Vikings. This requires me calling my shot a bit, which is fine. Justin Jefferson isn’t on the list which tells me he’s not going to play, so my best guess for the player to score the Vikings’ first touchdown is the guy that had a huge game last week against New Orleans and has turned into Joshua Dobbs’ security blanket over the past few weeks.

The play: T.J. Hockenson (+700)

Those are the player props that we’re looking at for this week, folks. Any particular ones you’ve got your eye on?
