It’s game day, everybody! And it’s going to be a late night for a lot of folks. . .of course, with this being New Year’s Eve, you were planning on staying up late and not going to work on Monday anyway, right?
Anyway, we want everyone to be able to keep up with all of tonight’s action from U.S. Bank Stadium between the Green Bay Packers and our Minnesota Vikings, so we’re putting all of the ways that you can do that right here in one place.
Kickoff for this one is going to happen later on this evening, with foot scheduled to meet ball at approximately 7:20 PM Central this evening. This game will be broadcast on NBC, including KARE-11 in the Twin Cities, with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth on the call. No map necessary for this one, as this game will be the only one in town this evening.
For our men and women in uniform serving overseas, the American Forces Network will be showing this one LIVE on AFN Sports. Coverage is scheduled to start at 0100Z on Monday, which works out to a start time of 0200L on Monday morning for everyone in Central Europe, 0300L on Monday morning for those on Arabian Time, and 1000L on Monday morning for fans in Japan and Korea.
If you have a Vikings Radio Network affiliate in your area, most of them will probably be carrying the game. We’ve provided you with the full list of affiliates for this season, so use our page to find the affiliate nearest to you.
For those of you who are going to use satellite radio to listen to this one, you can find the feed from the Vikings Radio Network on SiriusXM Channel 225. You can listen to the Packers’ feed on Channel 226 if you feel compelled to do so for whatever reason. You can also get the national feed from Westwood One on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Channel 88, or listen to the game en español on Channel 227. The gang from Football Zebras has informed us that the officiating crew for tonight’s contest will be led by Clay Martin. This will be the second prime-time game featuring the Vikings that Martin’s crew has handled this season, as they were involved in the Vikings’ 34-28 loss to Philadelphia on Thursday Night Football back in Week 2.
This game will, obviously, not be affected by the elements, being held inside the cozy confines of U.S. Bank Stadium. If you plan on partaking in any pregame festivities, our friends at WeatherNation would advise you to dress warmly. Temperatures at kickoff will be just below freezing with winds coming out of the northwest at around five miles/hour.
The Vikings remain the betting favorite as we get closer to kickoff, as the DraftKings Sportsbook currently shows them as a 1-point favorite. The over/under is currently sitting at 43.5.
You should be able to watch this one on one of numerous streaming services, since most of them will have NBC available, such as Fubo TV or Sling TV. You can also stream the game on Peacock, if you are a subscriber.
I’ll say the same thing about illegal streams that I always say: don’t. Or damn sure don’t go advertising them here. You’ll be banned and that will be the end of it.
After a week off for Christmas, we will be back with our LIVE postgame show from Vikings Report with Drew and Ted! We’ll be live and rolling right after the game ends, and we might even be ringing in the new year depending on how things go. We’ll have a separate post for you to stream the show, or you can go to the Vikings Report with Drew and Ted YouTube page and watch the show there, allowing you to interact with other viewers and possibly win yourself some swag.
That should be everything you need to keep up with the action from U.S. Bank Stadium tonight, folks. We’ll have our first Open Thread of the night dropping an hour or so before kickoff, right around 6:15 PM Central time, and we hope to see a lot of folks there!
