2023 NFL Draft: First round order officially set

Let’s look at all the first-round picks

NFL: 2016 NFL Draft Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

With the 2022 NFL season officially in the books, the draft order for the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft is set.

As we know, this year’s draft will be held in the hometown of the team that just won the Super Bowl, as the show will head to Kansas City from 27-29 April.

Here is what the selection order for Round 1 looks like. Each team is listed with their final record and their strength of schedule, which is the first tiebreaker for determining draft order for teams with equal records. The team with the lower strength of schedule gets the lower pick.

  1. Chicago Bears (3-14, .572)
  2. Houston Texans (3-13-1, .481)
  3. Arizona Cardinals (4-13, .529)
  4. Indianapolis Colts (4-12-1, .512)
  5. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos, 5-12, .481)
  6. Detroit Lions (via Los Angeles Rams, 5-12, .519)
  7. Las Vegas Raiders (6-11, .474)
  8. Atlanta Falcons (7-10, .467)
  9. Carolina Panthers (7-10, .472)
  10. Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans Saints, 7-10, .507)
  11. Tennessee Titans (7-10, .510)
  12. Houston Texans (via Cleveland Browns, 7-10, .524)
  13. New York Jets (7-10, .539)
  14. New England Patriots (8-9, .502)
  15. Green Bay Packers (8-9, .524)
  16. Washington Commanders (8-8-1, .536)
  17. Pittsburgh Steelers (9-8, .519)
  18. Detroit Lions (9-8, .535)
  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9, .503)
  20. Seattle Seahawks (9-8, .462)
  21. Miami Dolphins (9-8, .537)
  22. Los Angeles Chargers (10-7, .443)
  23. Baltimore Ravens (10-7, .509)
  24. Minnesota Vikings (13-4, .474)
  25. Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8, .467)
  26. New York Giants (9-7-1, .526)
  27. Dallas Cowboys (12-5, .507)
  28. Buffalo Bills (13-3, .503)
  29. Cincinnati Bengals (12-4, .524)
  30. New Orleans Saints (from San Francisco 49ers, 13-4, .417, through Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos)
  31. Philadelphia Eagles (14-3, .474)
  32. Kansas City Chiefs (14-3, .453)

We remind you again that the Dolphins don’t actually have a first-round pick this year after being found to have violated league tampering rules, so every team below them is technically a spot higher than they’re listed at. That means that even though the Vikings have the 24th pick, they’ll be taking the 23rd player off the board as things stand right now.

Do you have any draft crushes yet, folks? Let us know where you think the Vikings need to be focusing.
