Welcome to what’s likely the final game day of the 2023 NFL season for our Minnesota Vikings, ladies and gentlemen. Today, the purple take their annual trip to the Motor City as they face the Detroit Lions for the second time in three weeks. The Vikings do harbor some very slim playoff hopes, but they’re pretty much on life support and I don’t think we should expect it to happen at this point.

Having said that, we want as many people as possible to be able to follow along with the action from Ford Field, so we’re going to put all the ways that you can do that in one easy spot.

Television Info

For this Week 18 contest, we get one opportunity to have a game at the best time for NFL action to start, that being noon Central time on Sunday. This game will be shown on FOX affiliates around the country, including KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities, with Joe Davis and Daryl Johnston on the call. If you’re wondering whether or not you’re in the local broadcast area for this one, here’s this week’s map from 506 Sports, with the Vikings/Lions game being represented by the red area.

If you’re not in the local broadcast area, you’ll be able to find the game on YouTube TV Sunday Ticket.

For our men and women serving in uniform overseas, the American Forces Network will be showing this one LIVE on AFN Sports. Kickoff is slated for 1800Z, which translates to 1900L for everyone in Central Europe, 2100L for those on Arabian Time, and 0300L on Sunday morning for fans in Japan and Korea.

Radio Info

If you have a Vikings Radio Network affiliate in your area, most of them will probably be carrying the game. We’ve provided you with the full list of affiliates for this season, so use our page to find the affiliate nearest to you.

For those of you who are going to use satellite radio to listen to this one, you can find the feed from the Vikings Radio Network on SiriusXM Channel 381. You can listen to the Lions’ feed on Channel 226 if you feel compelled to do so for whatever reason. If you’re using the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is on Channel 820.

Referee Info

The gang over at Football Zebras informs us that the officiating crew for this week will be led by Brad Rogers. The Vikings haven’t seen Rogers’ crew since October of 2022, when that crew handled the Vikings’ 24-16 victory over the Dolphins in Miami.

Weather Info

With the game being played inside of Ford Field, the weather isn’t going to affect anything with the game itself. If you’ll be doing anything in Detroit before the game, it won’t be too bad out there for winter, according to our friends at WeatherNation. Temperatures will be right around freezing with winds out of the west at around five miles/hour on Sunday for most of the day.

Betting Info

The line in this one has shifted towards the Vikings a little bit. The Vikings started out as a 5-point underdog but that number has dropped to 3.5 points. The over/under for this one has gone up, with the number now sitting at 46. For any changes between now and kickoff, check in with our friends at the DraftKings Sportsbook.

Streaming Info

If your local affiliate is not carrying the game, remember that the Sunday Ticket package now rests with YouTube TV. If you’re in the broadcast area and have cut the cord, you should be able to find it on a service such as Fubo TV or Sling TV.

I’ll say the same thing about illegal streams that I always say: don’t. Or damn sure don’t go advertising them here. You’ll be banned and that will be the end of it.

Post-Game Info

There will not be a live postgame show from Vikings Report with Drew and Ted this week. We’re planning a bit of a postseason wrap-up show sometime during the week, and we’ll keep you informed as to when that’s going to happen.

That should be all of the information you need to keep up with the action from Ford Field between the Vikings and the Lions. As always, our discussion threads for the game will start approximately an hour before kickoff at 11:00 AM Central, and we hope to see a lot of folks there.
