The curious case of the DJ stuck at US Bank Stadium

What’s it like to be stuck in a $1 billion all alone? Watch the video.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be all alone in a billion dollar stadium?

No? But you’re a little curious now?

US Bank Stadium, the new home of the Minnesota Vikings, doesn’t just host ten football games a year. The stadium has already hosted a wide range of events since opening almost two months ago, including soccer games, job fairs, and weddings.

Yes, weddings. How cool would it be to get married in a gigantic football stadium? Some lucky couple did just that on Saturday night.

And since no wedding is complete without music, here’s where the story of Mark Haugen begins.

Mr. Haugen was the DJ for the wedding at the Bank, and apparently a fun time was had by all. But after everyone else had left—literally—Haugen somehow remained.

We’re still not exactly sure how Haugen suddenly had the stadium to himself; from the sound of it, he wasn’t exactly sure either. And since it’s 2016, Haugen decided to do what any red-blooded American would do in his situation—post his experience on Facebook Live!

What you see below is what Haugen posted late Saturday night. The video is 16 minutes long, but I strongly encourage you to watch the entire thing. The highlight of the experience is around the 13-minute mark, when Haugen attempts to sound the Gjallarhorn. (Spoiler alert: it doesn’t work.)

Thanks to Mr. Haugen for sharing his very unique experience. I’m friends with a couple people that actually know Haugen, so I can assure you that he eventually made it out of the stadium safely.
